The Ogden Museum is pleased to present a discussion with members of the New Orleans community who were in Haiti after the 2010 earthquake, as well as photography curators. Topics that will be addressed are Haiti in the days after the earthquake, the outbreak of cholera, Haiti today, and how photography, including Julie Dermansky’s work currently on view at the museum, raises public awareness.

Panelists include: Michael Deibert, Journalist; Mary…se Déjean, WWOZ Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator, Haitian native; Julie Dermansky, Photographer; Dr. Yvelyne Germain-MacCarthy, President, Haitian Association for Human Development, and Professor of Mathematics, UNO; Richard McCabe, Ogden Museum of Southern Art Photography Curator; Greer Mendy, J.D., Founder of the Tekrema Center for Arts and Culture; Dr. Jean Montés, Director of Orchestral Studies, Loyola University. Moderator: George Ingmire, Radio producer, Filmmaker.
