I’ve got to be honest, like most 20 somethings, I’ve always wanted to be a professional DJ. Apparently now is our time to shine. Learn basic DJ skills and produce your own recorded mix! Sign up for NOLA Mix Youth DJ Classes and learn how to mix, scratch, and perform music with new technology, and hands-on training from a professional DJ and music producer Ben Epstein. Wednesdays from 5:00pm – 7:00pm / January 11th to February 15th (6 classes).
DJ Yamin is a New Orleans based DJ/Producer known for his wide-ranging musical styles including Hip-Hop, Funk, Reggae, Afro-Beat, Latin and more. He is the founder of Beats Not Bombs, an organization that gathers artists and activists together to raise money and awareness for such as Amnesty International and The Campaign to Ban Landmines. Along side DJ Moosaka, he released “5 Finger Breaks V.1” on Revolutionary Records and co-hosted a highly successful radio show entitled “The Grooveyard” on WMFO.
He has performed along side such artists as Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley, The Violent Femmes, DJ Rob Swift, Del The Funky Homosapien, Edan, Cosmo Baker, Soul Clap and more. DJ Yamin currently hosts “The Nod Factor” radio show on CrescentCityRadio.Com.
