Scion A/V and famed hip hop producer, Prince Paul, have teamed up on a six episode documentary series that can be found on scionav.com.
The series is shot like a travel-show with Prince Paul visiting niche music events and discovering underground music he’s never known existed. They venture into cities like New Orleans where they explore bounce, his hometown of New York to explore dance as well as visiting Palm Springs, CA to absorb the house music culture during the Coachella Music & Arts Festival. They engage in conversations with acts like Best Coast, Big Freedia, various DJs like Trouble & Bass and promoters who are leading the charge in their respective genres from coast to coast.
Prince Paul embarked on the series in hopes of educating himself on today’s current music landscape and learning about what makes them all flourish. All the while, hoping to find a new sense of inspiration for his own music projects. The series is an engaging and entertaining look at the vastness of music through the eyes of this hip-hop legend.
